For the months of June/July, my favorite thing has been preparing for Deepak Chopra & Oprah Winfrey’s Summer Meditation series. This will be my 5th year participating in their free meditation series. What I can share is that I have gleaned the value of meditation and I feel the difference when I don’t meditate. I hope you will join me on this 21 day journey and share your thoughts along the way!
The benefits of meditation will vary person to person but a few reason why I encourage everyone to at least try mediation according to The Chopra Center are:
- Relief from stress and anxiety (meditation mitigates the effects of the “fight-or-flight” response, decreasing the production of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline)
- Decreased blood pressure and hypertension
- Lower cholesterol levels
- More efficient oxygen use by the body
- Increased production of the anti-aging hormone DHEA
- Restful sleep
Since I have started to meditate, I am more relaxed, focused, and centered. I have also been more in tune with who I am, what I want, and have inspired thoughts about how I can achieve my dreams. Here is the link for the meditation challenge this July: https://chopracentermeditation.com/

This June/July, I took on 30 day challenge with one of my favorite people to try Real Hot Yoga in Englewood, NJ . It has truly been an awesome experience. We did their 6:00 am class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday’s, along with their first classes on the weekends, when we could make it there.
I LOVE everything about this new yoga studio. The location, the class times, the owners, the instructors, and even my fellow yogis, have been dynamic and inspiring. While they are still building their showers, everything about “Real Hot Yoga” will bring you back again and again!
I recommend this studio to anyone who is interested in learning more about yoga, experiencing “hot yoga”, and/or stretching your workout routines. Please share, Like, and comment on your experience. Namaste’!
I’d be remiss to post about anything other than the one and only BLVD BISTRO for my debut blog about SOUL!!
My boy Carlos Swepson, his wife Markisha, sister Joi, and their staff are out of this world. They make your experience at BLVD Bistro good for you mind, body, & soul! There is nothing I do NOT like about this restaurant and have tried almost everything on the menu. If I may, I would like to recommend a few of my favorites:
Shrimp & grits Seven Cheese Mac & Cheese
Fish Tacos that are seasonal Turkey Meatloaf
Again, everything there is tasty and while I have recently become a Pescatarian, I can even share that their pork chops are finger licking good!!
